While I’ve been always drawn to childbirth topics, my interest became more earnest a few years ago while I was preparing for the birth of my friend’s son, which I attended as her birth partner. It was an incredible experience and planted a seed of thought of this as my life’s work. Shortly after the doula-supported experience of having my own son, the pull was unmistakable. In 2013, I trained with DONA International as both a birth and postpartum doula, and Bird’s Nest Birth Services was “hatched” as a play on my own name. It is an honor for me to provide comfort and education to families during the time in which they are expecting and caring for a new baby. My approach is warm and practical; I am a down-to-earth and unbohemian presence for my clients. I have a deep belief in a family’s ability to welcome their baby with joy and confidence, and am equipped to provide those tools through prenatal preparations and my presence at their birth.
Prior to my doula life, I worked in corporate administration, and I hold an MBA. I am also completing my childbirth educator certification with the Childbirth Education Association of Metro New York (CEA/MNY) and I provide placenta encapsulation services. When I am not caring for my clients, I can be found exploring with my toddler, spending time in my “office”, and getting in some guilty pleasure TV-watching. I serve the New York City Metro Area including Nassau County, Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.
